Recently upgraded the HDD on my PS4 to SDD. I put the original HDD on this enclosure and now use it as a secondary storage for the same PS4. Just put it in, plugged it into the PS4, and the PS4 takes care of formatting it. Seamless transition.

Works as intended, great price. I needed something fast and didn't want to spend too much and this did the job. I have not had a need for it since, but it is part of my computer toolkit now!

This enclosure did the magic trick for my iMac and brought it back to life without opening the screen to replace the original HDD Just clone, hook it up, assign it as a master SSD and lay it flat on the desk and you are good to go. Really you do not need to be complicated to genius!

Simple to install and nice packaging. Looks sleek and professional, with a glowing blue led so you know when it is plugged in. The cable is of a decent length as well. Currently own two for a 250gb drive and a 1 tv drive I took from my xbox

Well, OK...potentially saved me hundreds. The connector from my Seagate portable hard drive came off with the cord. Looking up my problem, this isn't uncommon. The data was fine, and if I pushed reeeaaally hard on the cord/connector, I could see my data. But the connector was completely broken off, so I couldn't maintain the connection. I took it to a repair guy, and he assured me he could transfer my data to a new drive for $150-300, depending on the amount of data. I did some more googling and found a YouTube video showing the hardware fix with a product very similar to the UGreen. Ordered this (it seemed from other reviews to be sturdy - it is, and reliable - it is). The whole process took maybe five minutes, and $14 later, I'm good to go again with all my data!

This thing is blazing fast on my Xbox One X for the external storage. Transfers games very fast. I also have another one on my Series X specifically for one Xbox One X enhanced content in the man cave. It zooms on that console.

The unit came on time and was nicely packaged, almost as nice as the Apple products. It is all plastic, but for the desktop it's Ok. I'm using it for a time machine backup with a SSD removed from a bricked mac mini. The included cable is a nice touch. The case is a little larger than it needs to be, but the foam spacers prevent any movement inside. Took about five minutes to set up including formatting. I'd buy other products from this company.

Very well designed and manufactured. The inclusion of a "special" (but standard) USB cable (with extended connection for drive interface) is very nice; I didn't have to go through by electronics drawers to find one. Seems to work well; the transfer speed is good but not quite as good as I expected (so far; I've only begun testing this). One warning (that is not a fault of the disk enclosure/interface): I replaced my laptop disk, due to errors, with a new disk that was the same type of disk (not sure if it is exactly the same, but the specs are). Windows put the drive "Offline" because of the similarity between the old and new disks (said they had the same ID). So I could not see the disk from File Explorer. Solution: I ran Disk Management, and manually brought the disk "Online". After this, the drive showed up in File Explorer and seems to be working ok (but I have not rebooted my laptop yet).

I love this product. Makes it easy to pull off the old files when you cant access a port.

This works really well. I have a small virtual machine (hypervisor II) running off of a 120GB SSD drive, and this enclosure is via USB 3.0 on Windows 10. No issues at all, and fast. - Tom

I do like the option of carrying my 500 gig ssd around with me and in a case that’s supposed to protect it BUT !!! The plastic this case is made of is very “ soft “ and scratch’s extremely easy, So I’m not sure of longevity at this point. I’d also not recommend that you leave it in a warm car.

I am using this with a 2tb sata ssd attached to the usb port in my polymega and it works perfectly!

I someone change the hard drive on my old computer and the original still had everything I needed on it. He recommend I buy this put the hard drive in. It works great! So glad I was able to still have access to all my files with this.

Unlike another cheap enclosure I bought on Amazon, this enclosure was perfect. It looks pretty nice for cheap plastic, easy to use, and it WORKS. I slid my (pre-formatted) SSD into it easily, and was able to successfully test it on a Macbook Pro and a PC without issue. Huzzah.

My intended drive does not fit inside this enclosure. It will accommodate most 2.5" hdd's and ssd's without issue, but multi-platter 'thicker' drives will be too large to close the lid. I'm keeping it because this drive type is not the typical thickness. Just something to be aware of. Imaged is first the larger drive, then a more traditionally sized drive.

Everything looks ok but the usb3 speed is about 36Mb/sec. My other is about 100MB/ sec.

It is backing up my MacBook Pro.

The installation is really easy with the slide open design. The material is all plastic. I worried that it may get really hot during summer.

It works I was tired of flash drives, had them to mess up and lost files, not so much with SSD. I went crazy could not find the special USB cable, found it later on when the cussing was through tucked away in the packing or hid away. One thing about SSD drives hard to wipe clean and feel secure, plus doing so shortens the life span. Old disk drives military grade wiping soft ware data is gone. The thing is they are so so so slow.

I used this with an old Apple that had bit the dust. The Toshiba drive was still working even though it was suspect of being the reason that the computer was inoperable to begin with. However, a small investment into this product ended up working out as I now have a backup drive for my new M1 Mac mini.

Simple enclosure for 2.5" HDD/SSD. These were designed to fit standard 9.5mm HHD's, but the standard 7mm SSD drives also fit, but you may want to add a small pad in the lid to keep the drive from flopping when moved. I just use a very small piece of foam.

Perfect t for spare 2.5" drives or brand new SSDs this thing turns them into portable drives, great for movies, pictures, music, or what ever. I have purchased several and have had them for everything including ps4 and ps5 storage

I am so impressed with this device as it helped me to retrieve all my data, which a tech told me it cannot be retrieved due to a hard drive failure. Basically, this device helped me to save all the data I thought I lost it. Thus, I recommend this device to everyone. I would give 10 stars for this device.

I had an SSD drive that I wanted to use for testing and backups. I searched through a lot until I found these Ugreen external covers. I bought 2 of them and the one I've used, is working great. The fit in the box is perfect. The cord is a tad short, but I found longer cords on Amazon too. Easy to put together, and easy to plug in and use. The box is plastic, so don't drop it on a hard surface, but the cover slides on easily and the connection has a nice tight fit. Recommended.

These are very easy to use and feel like they are made with quality materials. The USB3 interface means they are able to transfer data faster than other USB drives.

Needed an extra disk to store pictures on. Found an old laptop battery and bought this enclosure, hoping it would work. I popped the laptop disk into and attached it to my laptop and it worked like a charm. Very happy with my purchase.

We have a few old laptops that we were going to recycle, but before we did that we took out the hard drives. This works great for putting those old hard drives in and getting the files off the hard drive, then wiping the hard drive clean. In some cases we are using this so we can use the old hard drives as backups of our existing data.

I spent at least 5 months beating myself up for not doing recent backups when my laptop died, and after some amount of research on my options and languishing over what to do next, this simple and easy to use product saved the day! Dropped out the hard disk from the laptop, unscrewed a metal sleeve around the disk, and plopped it into this disk wrapper and literally cried tears of joy when all my files and precious photos were right there for me to copy onto my new computer. Best $10+ dollar investment ever! Impressively fast copy speed, too. Saved me hundreds in service fees, plus avoided the stress of taking a device with financials and personal data to an unknown specialist. I don't typically write reviews but when something this simple and graceful makes my life easier by delivering a solution to a problem, you can bet it gets a 5-star review! BRAVO, UGREEN!

I have not tested read/write speed with any analytical tools but noted transfer rates during copying/moving and seems to be on par with usb 3/sata 3 speeds. I like the snap to close option vs. tiny screws that you can lose easily. Since I put SSD which is fairly light compared to reg platter hd, I don't foresee the snap closure to be an issue.

No issues with high speed USB data transfer using this enclosure.

The enclosure is very easy to use - no tiny screws to loose when closing in the drive.. It is light and durable also. The USB 3.0 is very fast.

My Connector on my SG External Drive stopped working....You Tube vs Computer repair shop. You tube made it seem so easy, affordable and doable. Waited 2 days and under 12 dollars. It took longer to remove the case of my hard drive, but 5 seconds to put on the new case. Worked great...Only problem, the case was not able to close over the SG drive I had, I didn't realize the lack of depth. Decorative duck tape to seal up the sides worked well.

This case unit came with the Micro-B plug. An included cable has Standard-A plug and the micro-b plug. A good thing that micro-b type computer it can provide additional power and ground to a HD device. This unit has no power on/off switch so if you live plug into a running computer it will fire up immediately. Not my preference. If you leave it plug in all the time this is a good value.

You can take your 2.5" hard drives and put in the case and everyone that I have has works just as expected.

Up-grading from spinner to SSD. Dropped new SSD into Drive enclosure and plugged into USB port. Copied old drive to SSD. Replaced old HDD with new SSD and laptop booted up. Put old HDD in drive enclosure and can use it as backup or reformat it for other purpose.
